The Allnorth Saskatoon office first opened its doors in 2010 and has since grown into an ambitious hub, working hard to help clients reach their potential in the developing local markets.
In celebration of its 10th milestone, we asked Scott Neurauter, Division Manager of the Saskatoon office since 2015, a few questions about the office’s past decade and achievements.
I would say that our most significant change has been that our office has organically grown from a couple of people in 2010, into a community of over 70 people. The team is a tight-knit group working together as a dedicated family, and who are connected to the local markets and our clients. We are proud to continually strive to get to know our clients and understand their needs, and we are always looking for more challenges to help them with.
We believe that the potash industry will continue to provide a steady stream of revenue for us. The Jansen mine site will come online in the future, and will be one of the biggest potash producers in the world. We also see indicators that the uranium industry is making a comeback. There has been a lot of buzz lately surrounding SMRs (Small Modular Reactors) related to the uranium sector. Significant investments in the transportation sector and rare earth mining, such as for battery and computer technology, are on the rise as well.
We have the agility to help clients with as-needed projects, no matter the size. We are really tuned into our local market.
A key differentiator for us is our wealth of reality capture experience, with which we can greatly help our clients. In addition to our terrestrial-based 3D scanners, we have certified drone pilots on our team, who can utilize the drones to capture data remotely as well. Remote data capture allows us to reduce exposure hours and time spent on site (increasing safety and decreasing site visit time), which can result in substantial cost savings for our clients. We are finding more and more clients owning their own reality capture technology, and we are happy to assist them to manage their data effectively and efficiently. We have some world-class experts on our team who are continuously improving our reality capture capabilities with the latest technology.
Our reality capture services, fully support our full suite of engineering services, such as structural, civil, mechanical, transportation, and municipal engineering. Furthermore, we offer construction services, and are specialists in materials testing and surveying.
We are seeing increased investment into rare earths elements, uranium and continued investment into the potash sector. A recent influx of stimulus investment from various levels of government has especially increased our focus on the Transportation and municipal sectors. There also appears to be a lot of potential for future growth in the oil and gas industry within Saskatchewan.
We are agile and tuned to our local market. We can offer bundled services allowing our team to support our clients throughout the lifecycle of their projects. For example, we can support with surveyors and reality capture on a greenfield / brownfield site, and transition seamlessly through all the engineering and design phases to detailed design and as-building. We can effectively scale our teams to work on small projects all the way up to very large projects. We can provide turnkey solutions and we strive to delight every single client we serve.
We are a young dynamic team that is constantly thinking outside the box and is in the know about the latest technology.
We would like to see the team grow organically serving the local market needs. We would like to be working on all of the Saskatchewan heavy industrial sites. Certainly. an area of interest will be the emerging interest in SMR technology and rare earths. A few other areas we think could be interesting would be environmental, geotechnical, Electrical & Instrumentation.
Construction services have been a significant part of our business in Saskatoon in the past few years and we have been able to springboard that success to other Allnorth offices. We are the leaders in reality capture technology and we always find a way to get things done and to delight our local clients. We always strive to be the best in what we do, which is a common theme in the entire Allnorth family.
Hard work, respect and integrity. We have a great culture at Allnorth; a team of people you truly want to work with. I treat people the way I want to be treated and let them do what they like to do and are good at. My approach has always been to treat everyone as my client, including everyone I work with. I try to lead by example and I care about my team. Team members are hired selectively; if the fit is there, we are going to have success and fun executing and delighting clients.
We are members of the NSBA, SIMSA, and ACEC. I am on the board of directors for ACEC-SK and we have staff on ACEC-SK sub-committees. We give back every year in some way and have built relationships and contributed to local programs such as the STARs helicopter program, the Saskatoon food bank, and the local Ronald McDonald House, to name a few.
