Allnorth's Engineering Lead, Dr. Sasan Iranpour, P.Eng., will be a presenting author at an upcoming conference to held virtually by the Seattle, Washington-based American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), entitled Earth and Space Conference.

The conference focuses on Construction in Challenging Environments, and aims to bring the experience and knowledge of experts in various industries together to share and align construction technologies and engineering solutions.

Dr. Iranpour’s findings compare the results of simplified code-based engineering designs to those from more advanced techniques. Verified by extensive experimental investigations and numerical studies, his findings show that using realistic structural modeling can provide a more cost-effective solution than the conventional engineering approaches recommended by design standards. His findings are applicable to construction industries in various sectors and use high-level techniques to remove some of the conservatism employed by the engineering community throughout the design phase, and to provide an optimized engineering solution. This also minimizes the inspection intervals, maintenance costs, and shut-down of a facility throughout its service life.

Dr. Iranpour's presentation is entitled, Experimental and Numerical Investigations into Fatigue Assessment of Structures in Challenging Environments of Deep Oceans, which is part of the Structures under Wind and Wave Hazards topic on Thursday, April 22 from 2:20 – 3:50 pm.

Dr. Sasan Iranpour, P.Eng., is a seasoned Project Manager and Structural Subject Matter Expert with more than 25 years of diverse experience in various sectors. His experience ranges from one of the tallest structures in the world and the most challenging tunneling project in North America, to the full field development of a multi-billion dollar project in the oil & gas industry. LinkedIn Profile
