We are pleased to welcome aboard to our Vancouver division Danny Yu as Engineering Group Lead – Structural, bringing over 27 years of experience in structural engineering in multiple industry sectors, including commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure.
Over the past eight years, Danny’s focus has been on concrete and structural design of process plants in the minerals and metals industry. Danny is committed to producing innovative technical solutions to engineering challenges, and has been the ‘go-to’ person for such matters throughout his career.
Danny has worked on mining and metals projects for companies such as Atlantic Gold Corp., SilverCrest Metals Inc., Teck Resources Ltd., and Eldorado Gold Corp. to name just a few. Some of his industrial clients include Metro Vancouver, Rio Tinto Alcan, Weyerhauser, Cariboo Pulp & Paper, and - Fisheries and Oceans Canada. He’s also performed seismic upgrade work for the Coquitlam Sports Centre renewal project and others.
In addition to delivering sound, cost-effective designs and always bearing constructability in mind, as a structural discipline lead, Danny’s responsibilities also extend to ensuring projects are kept on schedule and within budget. A demonstrated team player, Danny proactively coordinates design work with and provides valued inputs to, other disciplines to help achieve the overall engineering and financial goals of projects.
