March 14 (3/14) is Pi Day. Here are the highlights from a couple of our offices that celebrated it yesterday with a "Pie in the Face" fundraising event.
In Prince George, team members paid $20 or more to nominate a coworker to stand in the booth and take a pie or two (or more) to the face to raise funds for our 3 local charities: Hospice House, Kordyban Lodge, and Canadian Mental Health Association of Northern BC. Once a team member was nominated, they could choose to participate or pay twice the nomination fee to not take a pie to the face.
Nominations took off quickly with more than 25 of our team nominated to man the booth. During our lunch hour event, we were able to raise $1,900 to support our local charities in Prince George. The enthusiasm and participation of our team helped ensure the success of this event.
Our social committee meets regularly to plan fun events for our team while fundraising for our charities of choice. We thank all the “good sports” that participated in this particular event whether nominating a coworker, taking a turn in the booth, buying pies to throw or helping out with the set-up and clean-up of the event.
Inspired by the Prince George division, team members in Kelowna followed suit, raising $1,100 for a soon-to-be-named charity.
